Figs – a fruit that has been used for medicinal purposes

In ancient times, figs were associated with health and well-being.
Its fruits, tree extracts and components have been used to treat more than 40 diseases of the digestive, endocrine, reproductive and respiratory systems for thousands of years.

Studies have shown that figs are useful in treating anemia, cancer, diabetes, liver disease, paralysis, skin diseases, gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract infections.

It has antibacterial and antifungal effects. Various studies have shown that figs effectively fight bacteria, fungi and various microbes in the mouth.

It is rich in antioxidants, the polyphenols in figs protect the body from oxidative stress.

Useful for its fruits, skin, pulp, leaves. Researchers note that dried figs are much healthier than raw fruits.

Reduces high blood pressure

Hypertension is a major risk factor for heart attack and stroke.

One of the causes of high blood pressure is potassium imbalance, which is caused by excessive amounts of sodium and insufficient potassium in the body.

Figs cause hypertension, why? – It is rich in potassium, which will help to restore the imbalance, as well as free the fiber from excess sodium.

Improving the digestive system

Figs are useful both for constipation and diarrhea.

In both cases, the body needs a high content of fiber, which is rich in figs.

It is also an excellent source of prebiotics, with the help of which you will improve the health of the entire intestinal flora.

Increases bone density

Figs are rich in calcium and potassium. These minerals improve bone density. Consequently, figs protect us from osteoporosis.

Numerous studies have shown that a diet rich in potassium reduces bone damage.

Calcium is an important component of bone, the intake of which improves the mineral structure of bones.

Nutrients

Figs are naturally low-fat fruits and lower blood cholesterol levels.

It consists of:

  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin C
  • Calcium
  • Potassium
  • Iron
  • Magnesium

Fruit is less useful for diabetics because it raises blood sugar levels.

Also, figs should be avoided if you are allergic to fig leaves, mulberry, as well as latex (gum).
