Prevention of atherosclerosis:

What is atherosclerosis?
This is damage to the artery wall, its thickening and loss of elasticity. In addition, atherosclerosis is characterized by the accumulation of cholesterol, prothrombin, and calcium on the inner surface of the artery wall. The symptoms that first appear are rarely if ever noticed by anyone, however, it can end in a heart attack or stroke.

The prospect of atherosclerosis is quite severe, so we should not even wait for the emergence of problems with blood vessels, but rather pay special attention to its prevention.

What is the prevention of atherosclerosis?

The main and effective measures to prevent the development of atherosclerosis are: to improve physical and mental health, to forget bad habits, to control emotions and to maintain a normal regime of work and rest.

At first glance, the steps are simple: walking in the fresh air (experts tell us that a person should spend at least 200 hours a year in nature), simple physical exercise, proper sleep (temperature in the bedroom should not exceed 16 degrees and we should sleep at least 7 hours) and healthy food, but It has an incomparable effect.

Diet during atherosclerosis

Nutrition – is one of the most important areas for the prevention of atherosclerosis. You should definitely review your diet and enrich it with products with beneficial or anti-sclerotic properties. These are a variety of vegetables, especially garlic, eggplant, carrots, onions, beans, seaweed and more. By the way, if we add sea cabbage to a different dish, it will allow us to give up salt. The latter is an undesirable product in terms of atherosclerosis.

It will be good if you remove animal fat from your diet and gradually replace meat with fish and seafood.

In the very early stages of atherosclerosis, you should completely eliminate fatty meats (beef, sheep, pork), fish and poultry, as well as the brain, liver, kidneys. You should avoid caviar, salads, bacon, spicy and salty foods, canned meat and fish, biscuit dough products, peas, beans, ice cream, cocoa and chocolate. Coffee and tea should be quite weak, it is better to add milk.

Vegetarian soups (vegetables, grains, fruits, milk) are useful. You can take lean meat broth only once a week. Meat is allowed in small quantities, lean or sausage “medical”. There are also restrictions on the consumption of dairy products: low-fat milk, low-fat cottage cheese, yogurt, sour cream, kefir are allowed. But sour cream should be limited to 1 teaspoon per day in soups and salads, while butter is only available up to 25 grams per day.

The most useful in atherosclerosis – fish, fish fat, seafood, red palm oil and garlic. In countries where the diet is rich in the named products, the life expectancy is high compared to other countries and the mortality rate due to atherosclerosis is low.

You should not forget about fish oil as well. In the past, doctors advised parents to definitely give it to children. This recommendation is still valid today, because fish oil is a unique product, it can protect blood vessels.

With proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, you can keep your blood vessels healthy for a long time. It even depends on your desire.
